Venice cruise port guide: terminals and transfers.
Cruise ships in Venice use more than one terminal, so start with your cruise documents: the terminal named there is where the driver takes you. In 2026 ships call at Fusina, at Porto Marghera (the Liguria and Lombardia berths, whose passengers embark at the Marittima), at San Basilio and the Marittima (ships up to 25,000 GT) and at Chioggia. From Marco Polo Airport to the Marittima it is about 17 km, about 28 minutes by car; the car costs 61 EUR as a Standard Sedan or 79 EUR as a Premium Van for up to 7, per vehicle. On this page: the terminals, the airport transfer, Fusina and Chioggia, a night in Venice before you sail, disembarkation day, and Ravenna and Trieste.
Marco Polo to the Marittima: the four cars

| Comfort Sedan | 1-3 | 64 EUR | about 28 minutes |
| Standard Van | up to 7 | 66 EUR | about 28 minutes |
| Premium Van (Mercedes V-Class) | up to 7 | 79 EUR | about 28 minutes |
Which terminal: the 2026 picture
Since 2021 an Italian law has kept ships over 25,000 GT out of the basin of San Marco and the Giudecca canal, so large ships now berth away from the historic centre. In 2026 that means: the Marittima and San Basilio, close to Piazzale Roma, for ships up to 25,000 GT; the Marghera berths (Liguria and Lombardia) for bigger ships, with embarkation and disembarkation at the Marittima; the Fusina terminal, on the mainland; and Chioggia, at the far end of the lagoon. Which ship uses which berth is set by the port and the cruise line: trust your cruise documents and put the terminal in the booking notes.
Venice cruise portFrom the airport to the Marittima
Many cruise guests land at Marco Polo on embarkation day or the day before. Give your flight when you book: the driver watches its arrival, greets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign and loads your cruise luggage. To the Marittima it is about 17 km, about 28 minutes; the driver takes you to the cruise terminal named in your cruise documents, where the port lets cars set down passengers and bags. Standard Sedan 61 EUR, Premium Van for up to 7 79 EUR, per vehicle, a fixed price locked at booking.
Venice AirportFusina and Chioggia
Fusina sits on the mainland side of the lagoon, south of Mestre, about 23 km from Marco Polo, about 34 minutes; from Piazzale Roma it is about 18 km. The Chioggia cruise berth is on the Isola dei Saloni at the southern tip of the lagoon, about 59 km from the airport, about 1 h 10 along the Romea road. From Marco Polo a Standard Sedan costs 81 EUR to Fusina and 150 EUR to Chioggia, per vehicle. Choose the terminal in the form to see the price before you book; the exact meeting point is confirmed with you before the day.
All destinationsA night in Venice before you sail
Plenty of travellers spend a night or two in Venice before embarking. The Marittima is close to Piazzale Roma, about 2 km by road, so on sailing day the driver meets you at Piazzale Roma at a point agreed beforehand, or at your hotel in Mestre, and takes you and your bags to the terminal. From Piazzale Roma to the Marittima a Standard Sedan costs 61 EUR, to Fusina 81 EUR, per vehicle. Your boarding window comes from the cruise line: book the pickup so that you arrive within it.
VeniceDisembarkation day
The cruise line gives each guest a disembarkation time: book the pickup for after it and write it in the notes. The driver meets you at the cruise terminal named in your cruise documents. From the Marittima to Marco Polo it takes about 26 minutes, to Treviso Airport about 49 minutes; with a flight on the same day, leave a generous margin. From the Marittima to Marco Polo a Standard Sedan costs 61 EUR. Many guests carry straight on to the Dolomites, Lake Como, Milan or Florence: the car takes you there in one drive.
Long-distanceRavenna and Trieste
Two more cruise ports are within reach of Venice by car: Ravenna, with its terminal at Porto Corsini, and Trieste. From Piazzale Roma to Ravenna it is about 142 km, about 2 h 50; to Trieste about 159 km, about 2 h 10. If your cruise documents name one of these ports, book from your hotel in Venice or straight from Marco Polo. Venice to Ravenna costs 440 EUR by Standard Sedan, Venice to Trieste 405 EUR, per vehicle, always to the terminal in your documents.
Ravenna cruise portWhat does a transfer from Venice airport to the cruise port cost?
Marco Polo to the Marittima is 61 EUR in a Standard Sedan or 64 EUR in a Comfort Sedan for 1-3 people, and 66 EUR in a Standard Van or 79 EUR in a Premium Van for up to 7. A fixed price per vehicle, shown in the form before you book and locked at booking. Luggage for a week or two at sea takes room: four people with large cases need a van. Fusina and Chioggia have their own price, which the form shows. There is no deposit, you pay on board at the end of the ride, and you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before.
Families and groups with cruise luggage
A cruise with family or friends starts best with everyone together: in a van for up to 7, nobody is left waiting in arrivals. The Premium Van is a Mercedes V-Class, with room for the large cases of a holiday at sea. Write in the notes how many of you there are and how many bags you bring; if anything changes after booking, a WhatsApp message is enough. Child seats and booster seats are included on request, with air conditioning and free Wi-Fi on board.
